ME Vertical Boiler

This is probably a long shot,  but does anyone have a copy of the articles in Model Engineer on the construction of a vertical boiler from December 2017 onwards? I have copies of Parts 1 to 6, but there must  be a dozen or more parts. I have checked  with back issues but they don’t go back that far. I have built a few of the small model engines that have appeared in  ME over the years and have run them on compressed air, but have yet to build a boiler. This one looks like a good place to start.  I am also open to other suggestions.

It appears that there are 33 parts in total covering vols 219/220/221/222 and223 so you have a way to go, a digi sub might be the way to go!

33 parts! …….Talk about dragging out a “how to build article”!

I have Tubal Cains (aka Tom Walshaw) articles in the late 1970s re building a 3 1/2inch and a 5 inch workshop test boiler and these were 5 parts or less if I recall and were aimed at the beginner.

Different times I guess….

33 Parts??  I think it is geared towards people  who have never picked up a hacksaw or set of files in their lives., never mind a lathe. I have ordered a set of drawings from Kennions for their GLR vertical Boiler which is slightly bigger so that is maybe the way I will go.

Thanks to everyone who has responded, but I think I will go with a slightly bigger  boiler.  I’m awaiting the drawings for the Kennions Vertical Boiler, I also have the book by Alex Weiss  “Making Small Gas-fired Boilers for Steam Models”. I have built the hand pump as detailed in parts 5 & 6 of the original series, but instead of using steel balls for the check valves I used poppets with O rings.  I have just used it to test a little pot boiler to 80 psi, for another tiny engine I’m building so I think it will  be OK for any bigger boiler that I build.
