Today I have tried to make a cast aluminium beam axle in 1/6th and it failed. The hubs previously came out ok and do need a bit of adjusting but i am happy with them so i got stuck into doing the axle, the molds came out fine and off i went to pour.

The axle although 310mm long is to thin and long for the ali to flow all the way to all points as it cools too quickly, never mind a good learning curve.

My question is then as i have VCarve Pro and can do 2 sided machining would my Kress router on my stepcraft cnc router be able to do this job in ali as opposed to the wood up till now?

      Thanks

Cut more gates into the sand so the ali feeds the axle in several places along its length
