Single strop for the lathe? I think I would have preferred 2 strops, one on each end of the bed.

The Boxford is being moved as per the manufacturer's recommendation.
There is a thread cut in the first web in from of the chuck for a M16 x 2 lifting eye, failing that a single strap is used round the web and through the bed, NOT round it.
The X10 series lathes balance correctly with a single point lift by adjusting the saddle and tailstock to an appropriate position as counterweights.
If you lift an X10 Boxford with two straps round the bed it will bend the leadscrew.
