      Hi

I used to be into model engineering back in the 70s at Leyland Model Engineering society. We used to meet in the pub and had a track in the park. I made many friends there and began a lifelong interest in engineering. Life moves on however. I am retired (75) and am into building custom motorcycles. I have a chinese 13 x 30 lathe from 1992 and a Warco Mill drill, MIG and TIG welding.

I watch this forum and a few others from general interest and the other day saw something I could help with and I am here today doing just that!

      Thanks

      Peter

Welcome on board Peter, whilst Dave thinks you may enjoy a dip, I’m offering to keep your feet dry aboard ! Even on a cold winters day this is not a bad place to be. Best wishes. Noel.

Welcome, Peter, there are a lot of bike enthusiasts on this forum, I have had to give them up due to arthritus, the last one must go this year, not anything classic, just a Suzuki Burgman 400. Everythings too heavy nowerdays.

Thank you all for the welcome.

I have always had an interest in engineering. I went to sea as a Radio Operator at 18. I went to Iceland  on a trawler in 1968. It was an adventure for a middle class boy from Preston who had never been away from home and never heard a swear word. I have had a life of adventure since that time. Travelling the world, having several careers, had lunch with a king, seen butterflies bigger than both of my hands, a polar bear swimming in the sea a hundred miles from anywhere and worked as a village Blacksmith. For the last 20 years of my life I had a successful career in computer programming after teaching myself when I was unemployed in the early nineties.

I would like to do it all again without the bad bits…….
