Not True..the load is spread across the bar in load and shear – a load evenly spread across the full length will show zero load at the ends and max in the center – almost a sinus spread. A load 1/3 in at each end will show a 'flattened' sinus with zero load at the ends. The ends are in shear, and have no loads at all – they are 'grounded' See this link, look at the PDF – figures 1 on show it neatly in graphic form ( with the math , if interested..)
