I have been looking around for a vertical / adjustable linisher of pretty good quality and I am struggling to find one. To be honest most seem reasonably ok but the good ones are very expensive.

I would like to consider making my own if there are any plans / castings available for one.

Does anyone out there know of any that are available. I seem to remember seeing some years back from a company that sold quorn castings but I cant find them now.

Alternatively can anybody recomend a good linisher ?

      Many thanks

      Dave

Hi Dave I think there's plans for one on myhobby store site and its 50% off all plans there at the moment. Not sure on the size of it but might be worth a look. The big ones are silly money for what they are. Ah found it http://www.myhobbystore.co.uk/product/17552/linishing-machine-we21

Hello Dave, I have one that cost about £50-60 from Machine Mart and also available from most other of 'our' suppliers.

I'm perfectly happy with it, but if you want a top notch machine, I'd suggest that you could use it as the basis, and probably just add a slotted table and a more rigid, accurate guidwe for behind teh belt.

I bought mine from Axminster Power Tools, great value for money and a super bit of kit. I use it mostly for removing the letters etc from stainless bolts before polishing them.

I have recently been loaned a linisher from work (same as the £119 Clarke one at Machine Mart, but with a different paint job) and it's ferocious, not the sort of precision instrument I was hoping for.

                  Regards,

                  Richard
