Having read on here many times of oil leaks from these sight glasses, my newly aquired WARCO BH600G is no exception. I think I have found an easy solution. I have removed the two glasses on the spindle lubrication reservoirs, removed and discarded the O rings, washed the glasses in fairy liquid/warm water, and then dried them.

Next, it’s a simple matter of winding enough twisted PTFE tape round and round and into the groove until you can get a tightish seal when offering up to the hole in the casting.

I did this about a month ago and so far there have been no leaks. Time will tell of course but I am hopeful I have found the answer.

I had this problem on my WM250 but the sight glass (plastic) was held in by what I can only describe as "porous oriental putty". My fix was to scrape out the putty to a depth of about 3mm wash the new groove out with meths and then fill the gap with clear silicone sealer. Works a treat and no more leaks.

Interesting; my 14 year old BH600G lookalike ( an ETR BL12-24) has never leaked. Different factory / specification?).

Why not fit new 'O' rings, rather than use a sealant that you do not know exactly where any excess goes?

(Have never liked bodging, although, in the past, silicon sealant has solved a number of problems for me)

'O' ring packs are available quite cheaply from a variety of sources, in U K, and no doubt, else where in the world.
