Can anyone recommend a company to laser cut 3/16" aluminium frames based on quality, price and turn around.

Its not so easy to laser cut aluminium due to the fact it can reflect the laser beam, water jet cutting may well be better, have a word with Sciss I've used them several times.

Modern lasers can pi$$ 3mm aluminium with no problems and at 1/3 the price of water jet cutting due to the speed.

Would help if Eric said where he was in the country.

ESP at Rotherham regularly cuts 20mm alloy with laser and has a page here.

Hi Eric

Yes Aluminium can be cut with a Laser. and with a good finish too… there is little undercutting compared to water jet cutting. Tolerances can be held tighter and it costs less. Some Machines can also laser cut brass alloys Like Salvagnini Fibre Laser cutters **LINK**

There may be a few older machines around that cant cut Aluminium. however many Can.

Lazer cutting depends on the gas that they use. My mind escapes me as to which gasses!!!

I have used this lot in the past, they have an on line quote system where you upload a drawing and you get to see the cost break down re more is cheaper.
