largest size chuck for viceroy TDS

Hi I am looking for some advice/ info regarding chuck size for Viceroy TDS. What is the largest chuck size this machine will accomodate without any issues ?. I believe the spindle thread is 1 1/2" x 8 TPI. I would appreciate any feedback thanks.

If I understand correctly, your lathe was an 'ancestor' of the Boxford **LINK**

For the Boxford the standard sizes are 5 in 3 jaw and 6 in 4 jaw with anything bigger held on the 9 in faceplate. However it is nice to have smaller lighter weight chucks that can be easily transferred onto a small dividing head or rotary table when doing smaller work.

Having a bigger chuck does not make any part of your anatomy grow bigger. If you need to hold bigger items frequently you probably need a bigger lathe.

The two Viceroys they used to have at work had 5" four jaw independent chucks. Not sure what size the three jaw SC chucks were though.
