I’m trying to find out how many issues of Model Engineer contained the article on contructing a striking Lantern clock. I know the fist issue was 5th September 1975. Can anyone help?
        Thanks, Dave.

SWMBO wants me to make a lantern clock, I've found the JMW version which looks just the thing, but no idea of overall size. I checked out the link above but it doesn't seem to work. Anyone made one? This would be my fist foray into making a complete clock, I've made slave clocks before and modified te motion work on my pigeon clock. Is this a suitable starting point?

The old 'LanternClocks' website can be found on the WayBack Machine.

The drawing just seems to be the image above. Be patient if browsing it can take a while to load!

Well if that's the JMW one it's too small, and I can't just scale it up as the fretwork is a casting. Back to the drawing board as they say

Probably very close to the same size as JMW’s though

Thats great thanks. I’ve got chance of a part built one, but needed to know how big to keep SWMBO in the loop

I’d forgotten I’d asked the same question before! My search engine skills are clearly deficient, I’d tried that
