      Hi,

I've got a 3.5" Juliet and it's not great at making steam. I was hoping that someone may have some suggestion on what may be the cause.

I bought it already built. The person who built it had built a few locos and the build quality quite good. The original builder has passed on. It had previously had a ticket before I bought it and a another member thinks he has seen it running, but can't recall how well it went.

The problem I have is that it uses more steam than it makes and I can't work out why. The smoke box is sealed up. The ash pan has a full width gap at the rear 15mm high. The blast pipe jet is 1/8".

I looked at the plans and have noticed that the blast jet is no.22 on the plans which is 0.157". That's the only part that appears to be different to the plans.

I was wondering what size blast jet others have in their Juliet?

Any suggestions on what might be causing my problems would be appreciated.

      Thanks for your thoughts,

      Greg
