Message is don't be afraid of finishing a backplate for yourself; get the spigot very close to the finished size and then skim a fraction of a thou off at a time until the chuck just fits. Make sure the spigot is not too long as well!
Zither claim to be ISO9001 certified and it does look like they have decent quality control.
The chuck actually comes with good instructions on fitting – exactly the procedure I followed, although I only found it on the back of the test cert afterwards!
My only criticism would be that the numbers stamped on the chuck are a bit big and ugly, that said it's good to have the jaw numbers and master pinion very clearly marked on both jaws and chuck (my other chuck has numbered jaws but the chuck isn't !)
