I am told that Hermes have asked if they can help with the fuel shortage.

So far they have lost 35,000 gallons, 2 tankers couldn't find the petrol station and one took a picture of the station and drove off claiming that there was no answer!

There are no reports of problems affecting model engineers using petrol fuelled blowlamps. Yet!

As the only occasions on which I have tried to use petrol fuelled blowlamps they have done their best to kill me I suspect they might not be in a position (or even an earthly location) to respond!laugh

            Quite probably!

I saw them being used in an Indonesian silversmith's workshop.

            Bloody frightening!!!

            But the workmanship was incredible.

Local fuel folk failed to deliver my Red when they brought the heating oil. So I popped down to the small independent I'd bought it at in the past. The red pump was 'out of order' so I asked in the kiosk when they might expect a delivery.
"We've never stocked red" He said
"yes, you have, 'cos I've bought it here."
"Not in all the time I’ve worked here"
"How long have you worked here?"
                "Two and a half years."
"Well. I last bought it here 5yrs ago. So you’re just a newbie.."

The good news is they stock E5 and intend to keep stocking it for 'classic cars'. Another way of saying the locals drive ancient heaps.. but useful to know for my '93 200SX

Amazon are suggesting that I might like to buy "everyday essentials" consisting of paraffin and chainsaw spares. Do they know something about this winter that we aren't being told?
