The concept was that Stew Hart would produce three models that could be built by younger model engineers in the summer school holidays. Two models were published and the school holidays are here again so where is the third model?.

Well You have not been looking in the right places, I have seen a build thread by Stew and also at least one other example of the beam engine built to his design. If you ask nicely I'm sure Stew will send you the drawings if you can't find them to download.

I thought the right place to look was the magazine as I expected it to be published like the other two

This posting by Stewart Hart seems relevant:

Eric Cox: Stewart, is the grass hopper ready for publication yet ?.

                Stewart Hart: Hi Eric

I submitted the Grasshopper article over 12 months ago for some reason its not been published, and as it was written as a follow on from the other two engines, the passing of time has taken that link away so it will need a re-write so that it will now stand alone, I'm not sure if it will be worth my time doing this.

Any way I've sent you the drawings and a link to a drop box with the article in it.

Any problems just drop me an email.

                Cheers

                Stew

All eyes swivel toward Diane Carney!!

Would certainly be nice to see this construction series of a relatively rarely modelled type of stationary engine,

                Regards,

                Phil

I'm sure that, like me, Diane has a stock of articles in hand and she won't want too many series on the same subject 9stationary engines) and/or the same author at the expense of allowing other people's articles to take their turn.

I know she has stated on here the Grasshopper will appear in due course.

                      Hi David,

                      According to this ME index (I searced for Hart Mill Engine), issues: 4460, 4462, 4464, 4466, 4468, 4470, 4472, 4474, 4476. I hope this helps.
