Hi
Hello everyone, I am a semi retired Design Engineer. I have a very varied background ranging from vending machines to Formula 1. Experienced in Unigraphics, Catia and more recently Solidworks. At home I am know using Fusion 360 (because of their policy of letting hobbyist and business start ups use it for free! This is brilliant and I can do pretty much everything I did on Solidworks. Although I have experience of lots of CAD systems I only ever remember how to use the system I use currently! Many years ago I did an indentured Toolmaking apprenticeship and this always stood me in good stead for designing… I actually knew how to make the things I designed! and very often made my own prototypes.
Apart from an interest in steam and all things mechanical my main area of interest is designing Air rifles. I have started visiting this site more and more looking for info to help set up a home workshop to make my own prototypes rather than relying on contractors. This has turned out to be a very frustrating task as I am sure many of you have been through – particularly the Chinese VS 2nd hand debate.
I already jumped in on one thread before introducing myself….apologies for that (and for the longer then intended intro.) Looking forward to being part of this community.
