I am starting a 5 in gauge Simplex after a long break from model engineering. I built a 3.5 in gauge Standard Class 4 by LBSC in the late 1970’s and finished it in the 80’s. I have a dual gauge ground level track on my property but find the Std Class 4 is too small to drive comfortably. I also have a 5 inch gauge Planet with passenger cars. A friend gave me a partially started Super Simplex and I have started machining the cylinders so looking forward to other members experiences with the Simplex. I also model OO gauge based on East Lancashire in BR days, 1948 to 1968, based very roughly on the Burnley, Nelson area where I was born.
