Hello from a non-engineer

I say ‘non engineer’ but not strictly true; I do work on silicon.

Most of my engineering has been maintaining old steel boats. Installing gas, central heating, hull repairs, plumbing, fixing engines . . . all the greasy messy stuff.

These days my ‘engineering’ is fixing my wife’s pottery stuff. Two wheels, two kilns . . .

Welcome from another non engineer. As has been said already if you can think of a problem a dozen others will think of solutions. My background was as maintinance electrician for the local bus co. (till I retired) so I spent most of my time “elbow deep” in the oily bits. Good luck!
