Hello everybody, I am a long time model engineer specialising in the building of clocks and living in Berkshire. I have almost completed my latest project which is the Gearless gravity arm clock to the design of the late W R (Bill) Smith and am having difficulty getting power to the magnet coils. The coils have a total impedance of 12.8 ohms and the power supply is 4.5 volts. Bill originally specified 6 volts but gave no value for the coils so I have used the same combination that has proved successful on two of my previous clocks. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

      Many thanks,

      John

Can you clarify what you mean by "having difficulty getting power to the magnet coils"?
