Hi Bill,
Your not the only one having problems with the messaging system. I’ve tried several times to enquire about items most recent the raglan 5 for sale and only had one reply out of several messages sent so have given up trying

I have had the same experience. Emailed via the forum for two "for sale items" and not a peep in reply. Sellers are usually very quick to reply, so not sure if something is wrong on the forum email system,

Bill you need to make sure you reply to the e-mail in the text of the message not just click reply which will go back to noreply@modelengineer……………

Though some respondants tend to delete that bit of text and then type their reply in which case you won't see an e-mail to reply to.

I find it strange that you need to put an e mail address on an open forum with so many scammers out there, why can't it just be contact by PM

E-mail address does not go on the forum, and the reason why we have it set so people have to make a few posts tends to weed out the scammers. We have no control over PMs so even more likely to get scammed if that were used

The emails sent by the system should say something like:

This email was sent on behalf of Neil Wyatt, reply to email address neil.wyatt@mytimemedia.com, registered member of the Model Engineer website, regarding your **LINK** classified ad. Please be careful when responding to interest from a Classified ad.

Unfortunately some people delete this text from the reply box, meaning the seller doesn't get their email address for a reply.

Bear in mind when we send the notification emails they come from oone of our email addresses NOT from the seller.
