ELECTRIC MOTORS

The motor has a centrifugal switch, a capacitor and 4 wires, 2 run, black and red, 2 start, blue and yellow., The terminal plate has posts marked as follows. AZ, A, Z, S, T, and K. K is fixed to one contact of the centrifugal switch, the moving contact is a spade end, but there appears to be a second contact also ending in a spade end, almost in the vein of a changeover.

The motor spec is 1ph 220/240v Full load amps 5.3A at 1425 rpm. 1hp. The manufacturer is brook /crompton parkinson and it's series is shown as VQA5843A .

The cover plate has 2 circuit diagrams, neither showing a cent switch and only one showing a capacitor, this cover plate may not belong this motor ? One circuit is red/yellow toAZ + L1 and blue/black toA + N and called VS. The other is blue to Z, black toA ,capacitor across Z and A then A to N, Red and Yellow to AZ and to L1. This one is called VP/ VR.

Can anyone give me a circuit diagram that ties to this motor spec ? Many thanks, Noel.

This picture **LINK** on instructables looks to be appropriate for your motor.

I'm not sure what the extra connections on the board pertain to. Normally only those needed for that actual motor are present. It's possible that its a dual voltage motor or a capacitor start and run one as these need more connections. Unfortunately I only have the Brook Gryphon datasheet for those and the terminal designations are different.
