I have just bought an Edward Blake No 2 Tap Grinder similar to the one pictured here.

        http://www.ebay.com/itm/361549208446?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&fromMakeTrack=true

I'm sure it will do much more than tap grinding and appears to have been aimed at the English market as it is single ph 250V as stated on a brass plate on the motor.

Does anyone know anything about these machines?

        Thanks, Brian

I am now in possession of the machine which has Whitworth threads as well as the English motor. There is a plaque stating that it was supplied by E.P. Barrus Ltd in London and I have established that it came from Marshalls of Gainsborough during a clearout of their works.
