I was rooting through my box of HSS today and came across an unused piece of steel very clearly marked “Double Super Hydra”. They certainly had a way with words in years gone past didn’t they! smiley But I wonder what it means? Anyone know what grade of steel this might be?

I have some of said Double Super Hydra tool steel and confirm that it is excellent stuff. I wish I had more of it.

+ 1 for that, I have a couple of old tools. Equally good in my opinion is Triumph Double Thousand, by Jessops I think, down to my last piece.
