Found out MSc are still selling these for a discount price of £224.00 bit of a difference from £25 i paid. Probably the lack of reviews or anything on this product is because they aree crap for the intended purpose..

Anyway ive managed to get it apart ,typical chinese engineering .
The recess on the bottom of the top casting is around 1mm more on one side than the other but when both parts are screwed together by the one big allen socket screw the large holes through the top for the spindle are level. So it must have been line bored after assembly of the two halves otherwise there would be a 1mm slope of the spindle .
It was also sloping because one of the ball bearings in the corners of the base casting was missing.
