Hi, does anyone know where I can get the parts to make a length of realistic looking display track for 31/2 and 5 inch gauge locomotives please?

Blackgates and Polly Eng also do display track.

Thanks for the replies. I can't find it in Polly or Blackgates catalogues so I have emailed them. I can get it at the other suppliers but it is very expensive. I can make wooden sleepers easily enough, all I want is short lengths of rail which will post. Maybe i'll have to mill them from steel bar.

If you are after steel rather than aluminium then you will find it significantly more expensive, if available. It is also going to mostly be flat bottomed in aluminium as the bulk use is for running tracks Flat bottomed steel would be much more difficult to make.

What are the thoughts about running on rectangular section steel bar instead of railhead section ?

Thank you Nick that looks about the best one. I think quite a lot of tracks used to be rectangular steel bar. I know when I was a member of York MES in the 1960's that was what they used.

I made a short 'test track' out of rolled black bar with rounded sides.
