An ebay ‘suggestion’ drew me to look at this listing:

      https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/134829250217

The price, for two very small plastic boxes, seems plenty high enough

… but look at the RRP

Is this for real ? … and if so, how on earth does DeWalt justify it ?

        How do they justify it?

A combination of branding, aggressive salesmen, tradesmen whose time is worth more than shopping around, bulk discounts, loads of reasons. And remember, industrial buyers never, ever pay even close to RRP for anything. That’s for the DIY buyer…

Everyone else charges £6.99 a pair for them. I don’t believe the rrp any more than you do , though he may just have double hit the 8.

The muppet charges 10p for a local pickup as well.

They don’t have to justify it. Those boxes are not one of life’s essentials, if you don’t want to pay the rrp, don’t buy them. It’s called capitalism.

I didn’t say they had to … just wondered how they did.

Of course you “Need” them, how else are you going to store you little drill bits ect?

OK, I suppose you could use a simple plastic box from the Pound Shop ,but just think of the shame of it !! No, that would NEVER do.

I suppose I will now have to disgard my sardine tins and washing powder tubs for my drills .

                  The spec. is interesting

… although “tough” by name, the little boxes don’t even get a warranty !

Not to mention unscrewing the coffee jar lids from the bottom of your shelves….

Buy your dormer drills in 10s and you get a nice little red box with dormer on it to keep them in  – NOW -thats real street cred ! Noel.

Do you have very big drills or incredibly concentrated washing powder in teensy tubs? kI could fit an oil rig drill bit in my current washing powder tub (two years supply from Costco, I hate shopping).
