Cleaning cast iron wheel spokes

I need to clean the spokes of some small cast iron wheels (2" diameter) for a 3 1/2" locomotive. Any tips out there to get it done quickly and efficiently because I have worn out one round needle file and gone through two Dremel, aluminuim oxide grinding points for 1 wheel out of 10. Oh – the first wheel isn't finished yet!!

Diamond files . Not little needle files but more small engineers file sizes . ARC have a good range .

Spokes are thin and can get slightly chilled and be very hard on the surface. I've used diamond-studded burrs in a mini tool to clean up flywheel catsings, which is essetuially the same task.

Wear a face mask, or you will be blowing black bogies for 24 hours afterwards.

Received a set of diamond burrs (diamond files are also on their way) and if the quick trial is anything to go by – they will sort the wheels out no problem. Thanks guys.
