      Hi John,

      No it’s not an original Clarkson head. It came to me with the head you see in the pictures.

      I then adapted it to take R8 collets and made up the direct dividing attachment. Which has proven to be a worthwhile modification.

        I’ve often wondered if the “metric” version of the Clarkson had metric leadscrews or the metric version just came with the metric accessories for sharpening metric milling cutters.

        I found a photo of the reference scale for raising and lowering the wheel and there was one for metric and one for imperial which suggests the leadscrews may have been available in metric and imperial.

        Does anyone know if there was a version with metric leadscrews and what the pitch was?

          I bought a 3ft length of 5/8-10TPI LH ACME threaded rod from Master Carr. Cheap if you have someone that can bring it back from the US with them.
