pkg pkg's question about prosthetic chirality is important and interesting. It exercised my mind greatly during the design phase of this project I have to say. Was Cap'n Hook a southpaw perhaps? I couldn't find any reliable historical information, so I had to engineer a solution which would cater for all possibilities. The result was a rather elegant (though I say it myself) miniature worm and wheel arrangement which allows the hook to be rotated to any arbitrary angle wrt the lacing, so there is some engineering content to this thread after all. Sadly this mechanism is obscured by the leather cuff in my photo, so you can't see it. Oh well!

        Regards, Robin

        PS Couldn't find a self-ironicon in the drop-down menu frown R.
