Have you asked Blackgates, there version may be different to the Reeves offering.

Ron, the Don Young 5" Black 5 drawings are only available from Reeves; go to their website. I am not aware that there are any other 5" drawings available anywhere else.

Hi Ron, are you sure it's a Black 5. While it's not easy to tell reliably from your photo, but to me the cylinders look a bit to horizontally to be a Black 5, thiers are noticably sloped I think. It might be a 5XP without a third inside cylinder perhaps, like the Fury or Royal Engineer by Martin Evans.

                Regards Nick.

                  Hi Ron,

The design looks very much like a scaled up version of LBSC's 3½" Doris but as Nick says, the cylinders don't seem to be as inclined. Everything else looks pretty much the same though.

                  John

PS have sent you a pm

The cylinder is inclined but very little I do think my late uncle i am sure copied it from original drawings as he often went to Crew and new the guys their.

One of the guys at our club also suggested it was copied from a Doris i wish i new more.

His son say's it's Defiantly a Stanier Black 5 and he is a loco fan but full size.

He used to ride on the foot plate with my late Father he often used to come and join him but not interested in building a Model steam loco

I forgot to say a great chap on here as helped me out with drawing and i am so greatful big thank you.

Now need to find some one to weld it decided i will not do the boiler myself really don't want to spoil a great Loco.

I will try and do my super simplex boiler just hoping a Guy who has built over 85 boilers for himself and most of club members will take it on if not hunt for some one will start.

I am hoping a Guy in our Club will make my boiler as reasonable price and made over 85 now all very good.

If he is too busy will be looking for another capable boiler maker who will use my parts and suggestion's please.
