I wouldn't have room unless I got rid of three motorcycles a laser cutter and a CNC mill.

Hmmm – I have a 2-8-2 in the living room; my wife thought it sad that the thing was stuck away when it was "a work of art". So, I had to build a book case for it to rest in, and for books, etc to reside… Hmmm ….

JohnS, so the wife wanted a bookcase and you fell for it.

Lucky you all, I'm not even allowed my lovely little hot air engine anywhere in the house. Just because there's a big shed to keep "things" in.

Bad luck Gordon. Perhaps you should buy her a bunch of flowers. And then complain when she sticks them in a vase in the house that there's a perfectly good garden outside to keep plants in…

                    It's all about priorities.

Probably most single expensive thing in our house is the 3 piece suite, cost just shy of 3 grand.

The cheapest bike is worth 15 grand, laser cutter 3 grand and CNC mill about the same.

And I'm expected to keep them in a draughty old shed where they can get stolen ?

                    No contest.

Yeabut, my model engineering books are on it. Does that count??

Only if you have more books than she does.
