I guess there's a limit to how small adjustable reamers are available. Perhaps the smallest is 6mm?

There is a type of Reamer that has a center screw and expands the blades that way, they do go through the sizes you quote but you may have to buy maybe 3 reamers to cover that range. They do in fact go down to 3mm I will have to look and see who makes them. They will be expensive I imagine.

              Clive back soon.

The maker is August-beck.de, look for hand reamers and you will see the type with the center adjustment.

Just looked at a couple more and the makers name is. CAPT. is that short for Capital ?

Just tried to upload photos of reamers but it will not let me do it? This seems to happen quite often as if the service is not available any more?

                      Hi NB

All my adjustable reamers are Imperial and (I've just checked) my smallest one is 9/32" to 5/16" (it's by Dormer)

I don't know if there are smaller Imperial ones available but my point is that (being adjustable) – these reamers also do "metric" holes too! The one mentioned above is good for 7.14mm to 7.94mm and was used on a 7.5mm 'hole' a few weeks ago.

None of mine were purchased new (so I've no idea how much they cost) and they generally get used if I don't have a 'standard' reamer to fit a particular need – especially metric sizes (just about all my standard reamers are Imperial too)

However – you don't mention why you need an 'adjustable' reamer? If it is a (single) particular sized hole you want to ream within this range – why not just make and use a D bit?

                      Regards,

                      IanT

                            10 Quid!! go for it.

I'v only got two adjustable reamers, 1/4" free, and 1", bought fror $NZ20 for a special job. The 1/4" one gets a bit of use, but could live without it.cool
