Adept shapers

I have an Adept hand powered shaper which nearly got scrapped. Successful bid £10 many years ago at a club auction. Competing bidder was disappointed as he only wanted part of it as a large angle plate and was going to scrap the rest!

Anyone know of a slotting attachment for sale, for a Sharp milling machine? Need a slotting facility but not doing it with a shaper. Maybe someone has one and never uses it?

I cut short internal slots with my Drummond.  Easy enough in Aluminium, a bit harder in steel.🙂  it can help if the part can be drilled through, before boring to size

I have an Adept No 2, which I no longer use.

I graduated the handwheels to make life simpler. (The handwheel for the 16 tpi feed is a bit peculiar, with “thou” divisions)

Also, having cleaned up the slots in the angle plate, made a machine vice to hold the work square to the ram.

The clapper box need a few minutes work with a diamond file to make its operation a little easier.
