Hi All,

Apologies for sounding so daft, but to cut a long story short I have ended up with all the casting / parts for a 3" Allchin Traction Engine however, the drawings have seen better days & i'm struggling to made sense of them.

I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction of some newer drawings or in the direction of someone who would be able to help?

They are usually made by doubling up the 1.5" drawings, you can get these from Reeves.

There is also a book which may help you understand what is on the drawings, get the blue cover one which has more upto date info isbn 0-85242-635-6

Matt, John Rex Model Engineers at Pontefract used to supply the castings for this model , perhaps they still do . They therefore may be able to assist with drawings .

The Hughes 1 1/2" drawings as supplied by Reeves are very good. The only "gotcha" that I recall is that his original design of lubricator couldn't be assembled.

In this scale, the boiler stays are/ were machined and drilled after assembly to attach the hornplates. The 3" model might need a different approach.
