The Clarke motors on Machine Mart seem to get good reviews with comments like:

VFD's are only a small part of their inventory, after all you would expect more than just screws from Screwfix, wouldn't you?

Here is my old thread with a really noisy Clarke 3/4HP motor, part way down the thread is a Youtube video of it running which Clarke head office had access to and refunded me straight away

That sounded terrible. Fault somewhere. Sounded like a start winding stuck in or if 3ph a phase down.

My Clarke compressor is over 10yrs old now & apart from a new capacitor last year is great.
