Hello, my name is Corbin. Im started a new project to build steam engines.

Im new to the hobby but I have a short background in machining, turning, welding, and a few other metal processes

Im currently looking for 3.5 gauge plans for the big boy model.

Hi Corbin, Welcome. If your new to model making then starting with a UP 4000 is a bit ambitious ? where abouts are you ? Noel.

You will find lots of help on here if you need it.

I agree with Noel, a Big Boy in any scale seems overambitious for anyone returning to the hobby.

You might end up being frustrated and disillusioned, before completion.

It would be better to become familiar with your machines and materials and gradually work up to something as ambitious as a locomotive, especially an articulated!

          Walk before trying to sprint!
