Making Adjustable Angle Plates ~ help

Just been given a couple of castings to make a small adjustable angle plate (think these maybe from CES)

I'm guessing as I have no plans that the two 'fitted' bolts and the mounting lugs are critical ~ My question is should these fitted bolts be plan straight through or tapered ?

Dodweld, I made shoulder type bolts to act as the shaft for table rotation, the shoulder supported both parts of the joint and works well.

MEW 175 has an article on making them by Harold Hall so may well also be on his website, there are drawings of the pivot bolts

Plain and very close fitting if you make shoulder bolts. Adjustable reamers can be a mixed bag in my experience – not all blades cutting at the same time. I suspect the bolt or sleeve diameter could be adjusted over rather a wide range to suit a reamer that happens to be available especially going smaller.

Reading Harold's article I suspect I would add some dti tests in places to make sure the way the parts are mounted isn't causing problems before actually machining. There will be edges etc available for that where needed.
