One wonders how an equitable settlement will be achieved. The PPI settlement turned into a farce, no doubt this will too. However as John Lawes says above it serves as a warning to all card system operators.

My question is always "Who ultimately pays" …. in this case 14 billion.

                – The corporate board members, personally? – not likely.

                – The shareholders – perhaps.to a degree.

                – Mastercard Users/Customers – probably.

All of this is a fallout of the rabid capitalism which has taken over these days. Where the ONLY thing that matters is the bottom line …. today.
