after connecting second eccnetric wont turn over

Just rebuilt an 0-6-0 Molly and found that both intermediate con rods, between the eccentrics and valve chest were bent! When I connected the "top" eccentric and tried turning the drive wheel all was OK, but after connecting the lower eccentric the mechanism will not turn over. I am sure the eccentrics on the drive shaft are positioned correctly as I followed the drawing carefully and fixed these to the shaft. The model is a three and a half inch "Molly" 0-6-0, with Stephensons link motion, so frustrating even considered just using one connected eccentric!

Perhaps an obvious question, but does the eccentric strap have a working clearance on the eccentric when the bolts are tightened?

Yes I thought of that and even loosened off the bolts a tad,

I think or hope that I may have found the problem, I studied the drawings and I believe the thickness of the expansion link is causing the binding, My expansion links are quite a bit bulkier where the eccentrics attach. I will thin these out in the morning and see if this makes a difference. Would anyone care to make a comment on this?
