Does anyone know of a stockist, supplier or manufacturer of soft ceramic tiles used in burners? Our supplier has cesed trading and ive looked everywhere for an alternative. The hard ceramic tile doesnt work – they melt. The only ones which can deliver the required heat output are those which crumble if you rub them. If we cant source these then its back to the drawing board for all of our twin boiler burners. Thanks, Nigel at PSB

Try British ceramic research association, now known as Lucideon. They should know.

I purchased a sheet from Polly Model engineering some years ago. Still using it. They have it in their catalogue but P.O.R. Great material for burners. Cuts easily with a fine saw.

Thanks all – I ujsed to get mine from Polly but with their massive scaling back due to the owners retiring they no longer stock it. There must be somewhere else to get it from but no luck thus far.

Fizzy can’t you ask Polly where they got it from, or won’t they tell you.
