      hi

sorry if this is in the wrong area,

I have Chester super conquest mill which has a

variable resistor (potentiometer) to control the

speed, it also has a switch at the bottoms end

of the speed range. The switch stopped working a long time

ago but sadly the only one that Chester could

supply was too small and the wrong. Does anyone

know where I can get a replacement .

If you can give a little more details and possibly a picture it would help. You need any informstion on the head how many connections, the hole size it fastens through etc.

          Try these

If your mill looks like this then look at this page to see if the pot is the same.

              Hi Ketan

the picture of the miller looks similar but the pot looks identical. I see on the same page that you also sell the X and Y axis nuts.

i have been trying to get these for over a year.

              Thanks for your help

                Hi David

                thanks for the post

i have looked at rs but can not see any switched pots.

I was going to give them a call.

The only markings on the pot are 4k7 so I assume that it is a 4700 ohm.

If I can find a suitable pot “I will make it fit”

                  Hi Chris,

I am a little confused. If you click on the picture of the pot on the spares page, you will see the details which show that it is switched pot. Is it different from the one you are looking for?

                      Hi Chris,

omeg.co.uk/potentiometers/ are worth a try. You'll be spoilt for choice.

You might have to google it because the forum machine wouldn't let me copy & paste an actual link. Good luck

                        Hi All

Just a quick update to thank all the people who took the time to reply.

I checked with Arc Euro who are reasonably close to me and they provided exactly the pot that I needed.

I also picked up the two lead screw nuts that I have been after for over a year.

I now have a mill with very little backlash😀, climb milling here I come.
