How can I get back articles from Model Engineer magazine? I'm looking for John Wilding's construction articles on the M.E. Jubilee clock in 1992, starting with issue 3930.

      Thanks,

      Ed P

I don't know about the articles but John Wilding's book on making this clock is available from Ian Cobb.

            Hello Ed,

We sell out of back issues relatively quickly, the source is **LINK** but I'm afraid the oldest issue available is March 2014, and several more recent issues are sold out.

For a 1992 series you will have to try either the classified ads here or in the magazine (you can post wanted ads), contact a specialist supplier of back issues (google will find them) or eBay (and hope the seller has properly catalogued them!)

many societies have a library which usually holds back issues of ME eg SMEE has an excellent library

I should have stated that I'm in the United States which makes it more difficult. Thanks for the information, I'll see if I can get the book. I was hoping to be able to just get the issues since I'm only missing two of them.

I have a couple of pdf's (file dates 2010) of the the series with the disclaimer sheet stating that I downloaded them from this very site. So it seems they were available here for download once.

I'm more than willing to send Ed copies with Neil's OK.

There are some back issues being sold in the classifieds that may have the issues you want?

Back in the 2010 David Clark uploaded some PDFs of certain series, but some people who published books asked for them to betaken down IIRC.

I think the Jubilee clock was one of them.

Looks like 3930 is not available so that would confirm what Neil says, other mags are still there if you know where to look.

                          .

Very understandable; considering that most of John Wilding's books are essentially reprints of his articles.

I have a feeling DC1 removed the links from the website but as Michael has found they are still available via a search.

After checking, these are the ETW articles not the John Wilding ones, so the links may as well stand, unless I get a complaint/ discover a reason why they were taken down.

Thanks to all, I was able to get a copy of the two issues I needed. So I have all the instructions, the castings are very well seasoned, so…I just need to get started!
