Just searching one of my usual places for picking up indexable tooling.

Looking for an indexable chamfer cutter this time around.

Stumbled over Link removed see CofC seller and was blown away by the choice.

Despite the obvious diameter/angle differences, why would you choose one of these styles over the other?

I'm particularly interested in the rectangle (APMT) vs triangle (TCMT) variants.

Single triangle will usually go down to a smaller size hole or radius

Square can often be used above and below the work without changing tool

2 or 3 insert allow faster feed rates for same given chip load over single insert but minimum radius goes up.

That's what's confusing me the most, both S and T have the same min-radius.

I've got one that is adjustable for angle.

I can't post a pic of the adjustable chamfer tool as it is locked up at the museum at the moment. It is a WNT and the single sided positive insert sits in a holder that pivots around the central hole in the insert. SAU also make the same type. Some use triangular inserts, and some square ones.

An insert for an insert …That’s neat.
