Hi folks,I have had for sometime issues regarding my Myford S7 turning a taper. I have been trying to resolve this problem for some time without success. I believe now the problem is in wear in the saddle, I am lead to believe that fitting a Full width saddle ie riding on the two outer surfaces of the ways could be fitted, my existing saddle is riding on the the way nearer to me only. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for that Nick, very interesting. The issues I am having sound very much like the problems mentioned in the article. I did find out however that the front gib strip has four long adjusting screws but the gib strip itself has only two indents with the remaining screws bearing on the flat portion of the gib.

                Nick.

There is a simpler way of doing it by attaching a strip of gauge plate to the rear of the saddle. If you search this site for Wide Guide you should find more info.
