Hi all,
I'm in the middle of rebuilding a Clarkson LNER V2 in 3.5 inch. I've got to the point where I need a boiler.
I'm currently toying with the idea of either building one myself (blackgates can provide a boiler kit) or getting one built professionally. My point being is that the drawings can sometimes be a little lacking in some respects.
First off, is there any people out there with experience of building the boiler for this loco – are there things to look out for, changes to the drawings which are worth making?
I also want to have a go at drawing it out on CAD to flush out any errors, and also work out any missing dimensions. I also thought as a result I would have a complete set of drawings that I could give to a professional boiler maker. – Second question, has anybody done this already?
As I progress through this project, I intend to update this thread. First job though is to appeal to the greater collective for any other information out there, second is to get cracking on the CAD.
Simon
