i purchased a warco lathe for an off-road buggy project but i need to top it up with some gear oil, the manual says use mobilgear 627 or equivalent? could anyone point me in the right direction of an easy to get gear oil that would be suitable to use?

You need something quite light like a hydraulic oil. Warco sell “head oil” which does the job nicely and you can use this in both the gearbox and apron.
