Hi. I’m a complete novice. My father was a clock and watch repairer. After inheriting his lathe I discovered it was a modified Flexispeed. I’ll probably upload a picture of it. Anyway, I just bought myself a Flexispeed lathe. I’ll be wanting to identify both of the lathes I have, if possible. Rich

Hi. Yes I have seen that page. Don’t think he has a forum setup though.  Maybe I could start up a Flexispeed Group on Facebook. EDIT: But I joined this forum for Flexispeed chat. 🙂

I think I need to start another post, in which I’ll post a picture of my father’s Flexispeed, that is modified for watchmaking service.

There groups can be useful for some things.  I mostly read the apparent problems with my car and sometimes learn something new.  I don’t post very often, but am currently helping a nearby owner use her circular sock knitting machine, after offering to just ‘check it over’.  I’ve found so many faults that she would never have got it going.

                  Post it here Richard.

We’re “Model Engineering” in the broadest sense, so you’re very welcome.  The forum is best at answering questions, and questions are always a good way to get the conversation going.    Which model do you have?  Do you intend using or restoring it, or is it a collectors piece?

I made another post and uploaded a picture. I’ve since modified the picture, but I cannot edit the post. It’s posted in the Beginners Questions section.
