      I bought this press in an auction this week and I am curious to discover something/anything about the manufacturer. I believe there was a Wade in the US who manfactured lathes but I’ve found nothing to suggest they made presses. Haven’t found any mention odf a Wade in the UK other than Kitchen & Wade. Can anyone shed any light?

      The other thing is the capacity – it is labelled “No. 4”, is that part of any standardised system or just the manufacturer’s number?

        Could it refer to the force it exerts ,as in the case of fly presses ?

        No4 flypress=4tons.
