Anybody come across this type of tap drive? The ones ive seen seem to be UNF and UNC. The diameters on the drive spigot are in 64ths!!!
They could be useful if you could put long extenders on to them perhaps ?

You could be on the right lines.
They look similar to some styles of nut tap, used in a nut tapping machine for bulk nut production.

I have done this so far as they are too good a quality to throw away. more of them may be available in the future!!!!
I think DC31k is spot on.
If production taps they will be high quality and hard wearing.
I have several of those which came in an auction job lot and made a holder very similar to Bernard’s.
