south bend lathe

Hi

I recently purchased this lathe from a garage sale which came with a very heavy cast iron stand.

there is a brass plate on the side of the bed with the name south bend but I'm not sure which model this is.

if anyone has any info on which model it is or the value please comment

Looks the same as mine, South Bend 9", This is the worlds most copied lathe and at least 20 other manufacturers used it's blueprints under the WW2 lease lend agreement.

This means that parts from Boxford lathes with fit the lathe, I got more change wheels, a new spindle in the apron as the carriage wheel spindle had worn, all fitted perfectly.

Mine is model C yours looks like model B which has power cross feed by the look of the knob on the apron,  model A has a gear box with levers

Serial number / model type stamped on the bed just about underneath the tailstock face nearest the operator (Front face ?)
