I cannot find the search function on the new version of the forum. Can someone point me in the right direction?

      Andrew.

It’s just above the list of forum topics or latest replies. On the right below the banner adverts.

As Stuart says!  Hidden away I feel:

A good alternative is to search with the Browser with a site filter instead.  My example uses DuckDuckGo, but it works with Google too, and probably others.

To search this site only for “engine”, enter the query “site:model-engineering.co.uk engine“.    Note www is omitted.

I have to disagree with the above. If you use the search box as shown in Dave’s image which is at the top of “latest replies” you will get very little useful results.

Instead use the similar looking box at the top of the Forums list as mentioned by Stuart and that will give better results

I think the first one just looks through latest posts but the second will search the whole forum not just the latest posts.

              One has to wonder …

Did the developers ever get around to organising that P***-Up at the Brewery ?

              .

              Edit:

              Rule 1

If you use a word [like Search for instance] as a hot link on multiple pages … it should, for pity’s sake, be a Uniform Resource Locator

              < sigh >

Thanks everyone. I did find the search function above the list of forums (how did I miss that?). The one supposed to be above the list of replies, isn’t there on my display, but as it isn’t very good, then no great loss!

                Andrew.

Back in the day there was a Google site-specific search box built-in to the forum, why didn’t they just use that?

But how do you use search.  Say I look for “Hot air engines”  The result would be copious and more than likely not find anything relevant.

My search showed MTB 1 engine, a stuart steam engine, a demolished garage etc…  How do you ling search words together ?

                    Bob

                      It’s déjà vu time [again]

It could have been done properly.
